SR5 Fender Flares

I have a 2018 SR5. The existing fender flares are color matched to the truck (red). I would like black fender flares. My choices are
1. Remove flares, paint them black using SEM plastic paint
2. Vinyl wrap
3. Bed liner
4. Cheapo Amazon black flares.
It's not worth a few hundred to me to do this upgrade so trying to stay on the cheap side. I'm putting my money into Bilstein 5100s right now.
What say the Tacoma hive?

 

Bring back Plasti Dip. For $10 you can have a truck make over

I picked up a set of damaged ones that I originally wanted to bedliner but I think i'm going to wrap them in forged carbon fiber to mimic the new pro ones. there really isn't an option that isn't about $100 at minimum(proper prep, new adhesive, etc) to diy them with anything that will last.

 

Different strokes for different folks. Friend bought a new Off Road a couple years ago, first thing he did was drop it off at a bodyshop to have the black flairs color matched to his truck. He had them remove all the bedside stickers too.

That’s what I have had on an 02 Sr I still have and has stood up very well for several years, don’t remember when I done this. Has done better than my memory. Majority of the plastic clips sheared when removed, I do remember that. Will do again on a 19 Sr I have just purchased a handful of miles back.

 

Option 5: tape them off for overspray and plastidip them!
Option 6: rock the color matched flares

 

I've never found Plastidip to be very durable.

 

I’ve had plastidip on my rear bumper caps and grille bezel for 5 years now

 

I tried vinyl wrapping the flares myself but kept getting bubbles and creases.
Local shops wanted $400+ to wrap them.

So I bought a $10 can of plasti dip and in less than an hour have black flares. The best thing is when off roading scratches are easily touched up. The only downside is you have to be very careful putting gas in the truck because it will eat the plastidip.

Eventually I plan on taking them off and rhino lining them myself.

 

I'm lazy and use car washes. I'm concerned that the whirling brushes will damage the Plastidip.

I use touchless carwashes because of my roof rack but before I got the rack I had plastidip badges on the truck that never had any issues in touch carwashes.

Also it's so cheap it's worth it to try. Worse case is it peels and you have only ended up wasting $10 and an afternoon of time.
