Yes, it's a rather dull skid plate...the one that comes with...

    I love the result...

You can buy the TRD tow hook from Toyota. ARB also makes a front recover point.

I believe their are knock offs that come without the lettering. You can also remove the letters. I ripped one of the letters partially out on a recent outing.

TRD is just marketing bullshit, they sell TRD components as "upgrades" for many models hoping owners will buy deeply from the catalog.

Bolting on any TRD component is fair play: TRD shift knob, skid plate, exhaust tip, etc. Incorrect badges and decals will invite comments from the TRD Police.

My only concern is that they do not mention anything about the skid plate material except that it is aluminum. Most manufacturers will at least mention the thickness (.25” for OEM). I wish more would list the alloy. I also have heard complaints about the hardware that comes with the knock offs, but I don’t know they were specific to this manufacturer.

When I was skid plate shopping, the aftermarket aluminum skid plates were about the same price as the TRD skid: ~400, but the lead time on the TRD skid was way better so I went with it. The price of that TRD knock off is so low that I am concerned about quality. But maybe it’s just a good deal.

I think I’ve heard the criticism of demon brackets before. They do look a bit flimsy.

Even the OEM tow hook I have appears to be a one piece cast or forged hook with no welds.

I don't know anything about the skid plate you linked to so I can't give good input. The letters aren't super noticeable in my opinion, I have the TRD plate on my sport and it doesn't grab my attention or anything weird. I'd recommend spending money on what you think looks good but also what is functional. That skid plate will be better than the stock tin can that covers nothing and if all you need is the occasional protection from stuff getting thrown up or a poorly chosen path offroad you'll be fine.

I put a TRD skid on an 4cyl SR Utility. I popped the letters off, painted them the same color as the skid. Added some 3M tape to help hold them on. You’d never know there were any letters at all.
