but it doesn't have power windows and I read that the SR5 package includes power window, why don't I have them? is it ecause its a 4cyl?

I think more likely it doesn't have power windows because it's a regular cab rather than because it's a 4cyl. We have an 08 SR5 access cab with a 4cyl and it has power windows listed in the SR5 package.

I wish I could give you mine.I hate power windows/locks.I'm still scorned from my Chevy days when the power window motor would quit working all of the time.

Yeah, but that was then, this is now. I remember having vacuum door locks and vacuum windshield wipers on my first car (66 Lincoln in 78). Those things looked cool but they sucked. Motors are FAR more reliable from the days of your 1984 Chevy PU! :)

It's a convenience package that is offered on all models EXCEPT regular cabs.

The power windows & locks in the 2000 Dodge Durango we used to have started giving us grief at about 80K miles (along with lots of other stuff... POS). On the other hand, the power windows, sunroof & locks my daughter's '99 160k-mile Nissan Altima are still going strong. Regardless, I'm very happy with the manual windows & locks in my Taco. One less thing to break.

I wish I didn't have power windows. It's just something else that can go wrong. They are horrible in the winter. Mine freeze up all the time and wont open. Much rather regular roll down windows

I can't count how many times I've pointed my remote at my 06, 2 door, 2wd, 4cyl, Pre runner, SR5 Tacoma, as I walk away only to realize its the remote for the Vette and my Taco has manual locks. Then I look around and walk back to the truck to lock the doors. I had my Vette upgraged so w/2 press it unlocks and turns on the radio, w/3 press it unlocks, turns on the radio and rolls both windows down. Its fun to do this from my office window and watch people as they walk by. Some just stop and stare trying to figure out what they should do. hahaha Anyways, I'm going to look into upgrading the Taco with Auto Door Locks. Maybe windows too, the next time I'm near a TacoWrecking Yard.

The power windows are part of the convenience package on the base model, not the SR5 package.
