I'd be interested in this bumper if it were a one piece! One of the nicer 3rd gen bumpers I've seen to date!

Didn’t he say right at the top that the box wasn’t damaged? How could the bumper be damaged during shipping but not the box?

Edited to add: Skydvrr, PM coming your way...

What am I missing? Didn’t see anything there that would come close to damaging a bumper? :notsure:

Hidden damage happens all the time. That's why there's policies in place with any shipper for hidden damage.

I honestly have no idea how you could package these up any better. The packaging on the bumper I got was really well done and there was no damage at all. Took some effort to get it all back lined up in the box because it is such a tight fit.

Not to beat a dead horse because I think in this case the horse is alive and kicking but how could a bumper sustain that much hidden damage without damaging the box and packaging? I mean we are talking about a bumper - and one ostensibly designed for hard off road use - not a wedding cake or a carton of eggs right?

Ok, fourth post in and apparently reading comprehension is a struggle for you so I’ll try to make this even clearer while typing slow so you can hopefully keep up. This video was posted as an example of how a bumper could be damaged, there is zero evidence of mishandling in that video.

I didn’t ask howmsomething could be messed up in shipping so quit with the red herring already. Again, a wedding cake or a carton eggs yes. A bumper no.

Edited to add that if you think that was damaging abuse of a bumper, hopefully Aunt Milly won’t tap your mall crawler in the parking lot next your in there shopping for skinny jeans cause you’re going to be mighty confused when you come back to the truck with your latte....

First off, this bumper is a winch bumper. It is designed to hold a winch and withstand pulling forces upwards of 10,000lbs. The face of the bumper is 1/8" to save weight while still providing adequate protection from light strikes. The wings are purely aethestic, and didnt used to have a corner gusset. We added the corner gusset specifically to reduce shipping damage.

The wings also happen to sit closest to the edge of the cardboard box. When the box is dropped on end, all 90lbs of weight comes down on a single point. That point being the last bit of metal on the wings. It may not poke through the box, because the concrete would not allow it to continue, but the damage did occur inside the box. I do hope you can now understand the physics behind hidden damage and that this concludes your misunderstanding.

Ok I didn’t want to go there but since you opened the door I’ll lay it all out.

When I first came across this thread, I really liked the design/look of this bumper and thought it was pretty much what I was looking for so I decided to call your company and ask some questions about it fully intending to place an order.

When I was placed in touch with your “customer service” rep, rather than answer a few basic questions in a pleasant courteous manner, she proceeded to act as though I was intruding on her Facebook time and instead of asking questions I should just cut to the part where I hand over my cc info. That set my spider sense to tingling so I held off. After that experience and a few other things I’ve read here since then, Glad I did. I’m pretty sure I have all the answers I need now.

Good luck with your business and I won’t be wasting anymore of your time or mine. Thanks anyway...

We've yet to actually see the box in question. Typically, if there is damage to the wing, we'll be able to pin point the impact on the box. Pictures of the cardboard box would be required to file a claim with the shipper and we have filed claims similar to this one with "no damage" to the cardboard box and have been compensated by FedEx admitting fault after pictures were produced.

What I can absolutely guarantee is that there is not a single product packaged and shipped with known prior damage. In fact, our lead times will extend for particular customers because the powder had a thumb print on the winch plate or a piece of slag was not removed near the bull bar. The product is then corrected and repowdered at our cost to ensure the best possible product we can make.

Pretty sure you’re a shill so I won’t get bother to answer since I made my point and if you still can’t understand it nothing I say will - plus you stole my avatar so zero points for originality.

    You’re on ignore....

I greatly appreciate the reply. After several different sessions of messing with the shims and drilling the holes and completely mounting the wings to the bumper on the bench, I am satisfied with the end result. I am looking forward to installing on the truck.

I figured reporting damage wouldn't matter at this point. I had this bumper sitting in the box for over a month before sending it off to paint with the stage 2 wings. I would've opened the box and inspected it all if there was any damage to the box when it was received, I assure you. but since nothing was wrong with the box, it was best protected in the foam block. Wherever the damage was done, it wasn't in shipping.

You guys made a good product and I still endorse it.
