Hey TW! This is my first post, but I swear I’ve tried to do as much research as possible, especially on here, but I can’t find a clear answer...help!

Question: would I be able to install an SSO slimline bumper (or similar) *that can accept a winch* while running my 32” light bar on @CaliRaisedLed hidden lower bumper mounts.

I know the easier option would likely be to lose the light bar and run a new one off the bumper itself, but humor me.

    Thanks!
    Joel

Man that’s the exact look I’m going for... and I’m sure it’s going to end up being way easier to run the light bar on the bumper itself like you have.. just trying to determine if any of the grills out there have a relatively easy option to run the light behind the grill, even for a little. Unrelated but love the nittos you’re running.

I have the Body Armor bumper - it comes with mounts and will take a lightbar and a winch with no real fit issues. Some bumpers have a lot of problems with fit. I went with round lights bolted to the loop bare however to give more access and air flow to the winch.

Just wondering if the body armor requires cutting of oem bumper. The description of the product says it does but it doesn’t seem like u need to cut anything?

you need to cut the entire area where the bumper goes. you can see what's missing on a regular truck compared to steel bumper. it looks like it should fit perfectly...but that's because it's cut

Yes - you remove (and don't cut) that black plastic oval section where the bumper sits, but you have to actually cut out a section of the surrounding plastic including the entire section below the steep bumper. It looks good once finished. Some people buy a second front plastic bumper cover, cut it up, and mount the steel bumper, saving their OEM plastic uncut. I think getting a black plastic SR bumper would be a good option if you just wanted a utilitarian bumper.

@RelentlessFabrication makes a higher strength bumper and now has a lightbar cutout option from the looks of it. I have a non-lightbar one on my 2nd gen and had one on my 4runner as well. They make the most premo armor.

Thanks for the feedback man, yeah it looks like if I wanna run anything behind the grill it’s going to be higher up like this. Bumper wasn’t always in the plans but I tend to ride solo missions more often and I think a winch is going to be a necessity before I get into anything super hairy.

SSO makes a Slimline with a slot for a 32" bar. Then you could do a behind the grill lightbar. Just a thought

Oh man that’s pretty slick. Thanks for the photo too, super helpful. This setup would save me having to drop extra cash on a new light bar, assuming the aperture is the same height as my current light. Thanks dude, this is very helpful.

    Work in progress...
Couldn't find the exact fit so I installed 2 smaller light bars.

They make that smaller front winch bumper? I do t see it on their site.

At first I didn't think I liked the hiline bumper. That small one that fits right in the middle up front. I'm used to a total replacement. But, the more I look, I'm liking the idea. Less weight, less cutting. Any ofmyou have any offroading experience with the bumper?

They make it in small runs now. If you message @RelentlessFab, I'm sure Eric or Brittony can fill you in on when the next batch might be. I've had it on two different rigs and it's been awesome. I'm really happy with it and don't have any plans to change it.

I take it off road. It doesn't add a ton of clearance (still some), but I don't really crawl, so it's perfect for me.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but is the Cali bracket compatible with the SSO Slimeline? I dont have light cut out on my SSO because I have committed to running the light behind the grill
