You probably want to clarify that with them. If they don't have an allocation, there's no guarantee they'll ever get the configuration you put your deposit down for. Toyota effectively tells them what they're getting, not the other way around.

When I was dealing for my truck, the sales manager, after conferring with their inventory manager stated "we've secured the Tacoma TRD Sport the one that I email you the spec sheet in this email," referring to a configuration sheet they had sent me the day before.

If I were you, I'd ask them directly "have you secured an allocation for a truck with this configuration," with a clear "yes" or "no" answer. If the answer is "no," you've put a deposit down on hopes and dreams and may want to consider getting them to refund it. Further, you may want to start looking elsewhere, as taking a deposit on inventory they don't — and may never — have is kind of a dick move.

2025 Underground Tacoma Off-Road Manual with SDM and Premium
Wanted a manual with SDM and heated/ventilated seats.

Some were available on the upper east coast and upper west coast but they were quickly sold.

One was available a couple of hours away about a month ago but the dealer was $5500 over MSRP and would not negotiate.

Florida has one right now but without the Premium package.

Finally found one just one state away and picked it up a couple of days ago.

What is the deal with these?!?

Side note: Have been waiting for local dealer to get a LC allocation with premium and when they finally got one, SDM was absent. It is a standalone option now.

Toyota is pretty stingy with the SDM and even more so with the mt. Last year I had to travel 2300 miles to find an acceptable build with SDM!

I held out for months trying to find a MT and SDM. Gave up and settled for my perfect build, no unwanted or missing options -- except the SDM. I figure I can always add it afterwards. Somehow.

Also, apparently the SDM mechanism hangs down lower than the version without? Several skidplate manufacturers make a special version of their plate for the SDM with a fairly large protrusion beneath.

Standard skids fit on mine. But I think a diff drop could cause the mechanism to get dangerously close to the axel? Lots of mixed info about diff drops so I’m not concerned and I’m only lifted 1.5 in the front.
