Looks like the stage 3 uses carbon/kevlar on one side of the assembly and ceramic on the other, where the stage 2 uses the carbon/kevlar on both sides. I'm guessing the stage 3 is a little better in terms of clutch grab and overall feel at higher power output even though both are rated for 500 wheel torque. Both are probably overkill unless you're looking at putting one of those OVTune turbo kits on your truck in the future

Yep thats the goal either sc or tt I figure its better to start getting ready now rather than dumping 5500 for the kit 800 for the tune and 1000 in transmission gear all at once

Nice, please keep track of everything you buy and share if you can. My clutch is going and I have about 50k miles on a 2016 TRD SPORT. I am looking to get the URD stage 2. I'm just still doing the research in terms of what else I would need to upgrade (if anything).

There was a guy on here not too long ago that was having an issue withe the URD stage 2 clutch and their fly wheel. I can't find the thread. But he said that the issues he was having was probably due to the fly wheel. I don't recall exactly. But, for me I'm going to keep the flywheel stock and just go with the stage 2 clutch.

I would be down for the clutch group buy.

The flywheel is heavy which is strange as most aftermarket FW are "light" Heavy FW are for bigger tires and crawling. its possible he got one when he didn't need it and it might've messed with the driving experience but ive never read the thread, if you find it please drop it.

Post 170. Like I said, I'm not sure if it's the combo or something else. But good to do some more research. It was actually a stage 3 clutch not stage 2 like I said earlier.

Sounds like something went wrong with the install. I had a Stage 2 Competition brand clutch installed on my 04 a few years ago...long story short it lasted about 2 weeks because the shop put the clutch disk in backward. Had all kinds of issues with it leading up to failure but the shop kept telling me it just wasn't broken in yet, usually performance clutches have an extended break in period (which is true). That was a headache and a half to deal with.

Moral of the story, if you aren't going to install it yourself make sure the shop doing it knows what they're doing lol.

Yup, that's what i'm trying to decide on. Whether to change myself or pay someone. There aren't any YouTube videos of the install lol.

I don't think you would need it to be a specific video on that clutch, but a video on a Tacoma clutch replacement in general would work. It's a big job though, gotta drop the transmission. Not necessarily difficult but a lot of steps and labor involved
