It's dirty fluids ejected from the engine during the D4S cleaning cycle. Perfectly normal.

It could have been a mouse with these, I did a lot of fieldwork with rodents for a mammologist and catching one with these suckers always creeped me out!

If OP believes it's a rodent put some tracking powder down. I have had rodents in about everything with a motor on our farm. I stated it does not look like a rodent. It could be a field or deer mouse. Not sure where OP lives. I doubt it's a fruit or Norway. Sprays and cats others suggested are not a sustainable solution. If rodents are nesting in a vehicle you need to look at the environment around the area not just the vehicle. Reduce the food sources and harborage sites. There typically is conducive conditions that attribute to an increase in population.

You annoyed the dealership mechanic and he peed on your engine?
Probable already been said, simply Looks like oil from a sloppy fill / change, clean it up see if it comes back. Without knowing your service history every reply is just guessing.

First off, 50 lashes for a dirty engine bay! Now that we have that all cleaned up, it does look like a mouse has been under there. Some people have tied mothballs in a small cloth bag to get rid of them, others use poison or traps. But whatever you decide get to it before the little bastard chews up your wires!
