Hey folks - I tried to find a tutorial via the search bar on replacing the OEM rubber brake lines with stainless braided lines but came up empty handed.

To those folks who've already done this mod to their trucks - which tutorial did you use to do the job? Hindsight is 20:20 - any things to watch out for when doing the swap?

Same process as replacing the rubber lines. It's not difficult, just make sure you have good line wrenches so you don't F up the flare nuts and have a bad day.

    ^^ THIS

    - Spray the connecting fittings, bleeder screws, etc ahead of time so they break loose easy.

    - Get everything tools, supplies, drain pan laid out first.

    - As mentioned above, use good quality brake line wrenches (unless u want to round off the fittings) DONT OVERTIGHTEN during reassembly

    - Once you’re ready go for it and do the changeover quickly as you will be losing brake fluid while the lines are not connected.

    - Dont let the master cylinder run dry, bleeding them is PITA

    Don't really need a tutorial.

The right tools and pre-emptive measures to make sure they loosen without stripping or seizing.

Also, bleed the brakes after the swap. But to reiterate as the poster above said, don't let the BMC run dry.

The only thing odd I remember was with the rear brake lines. Seems the OEM lines have different sized holes in the brackets. The new SS lines were both the same and I had to file out one of the brackets.

Not sure if it is standardized but I did not have fit issues with the fronts when I swapped them. I bought Stoptech lines from RockAuto and there were no issues for me, however I only did the fronts so I can’t speak on the rears
