I've had my Tacoma for less than 2.5 weeks and the chromed stainless steel running board is starting to have rust spots. I can't understand why, I haven't taken it near salt water yet.. I can only imagine when I start ocean kayaking again.

Anyone else having this issue with the OEM stainless steel running board? Trying to determine if I should ask for a replacement or refund; problem with the latter is I need running boards so my guests can climb in and out of the truck.

I haven't heard of anybody's rusting yet, but there's a first for everything. Give them a call or stop by and see if they can swap them out for you. I don't think they should be rusting that soon, but then again they may be old stock.
