I thinking about getting an standard alarm for my truck off ebay, and installing it myself and with a friend of mine which we are both pretty smart to install stuff . But neither My friend a I have never installed an alarm. Is it too hard to do ? Just a plain alarm , no remote start or nothing, just keyless entry , basic alarm. On my 99 taco prerunner.

I just posted a thread on keyless install. An alarm isn't much more and uses most if the same connections.

The alarm would definately add a siren/horn and then possibly individual door triggers, headlight blinker, or ignition kill. These may require external relays if the alarm doesn't have them. Still none of this is a difficut install either. I would take a further look at the Bulldog information source I posted because it is an alarm/keyless entry combination.
