Recently purchased my first Tacoma. Unfortunately it’s the base model. I was wondering if I pulled a few of the electronic parts (fog light button on dash) from a truck I found at the auto salvage, if it would work on my base model? I could simply pick up a toggle and wiring kit from the local auto store, but would prefer that “factory look”.

Welcome , your going to love this site. Yes the switches will fit off the same generations of our truck. Also, you can buy intermittent wiper controls, where you just switch out the OEM stock. I have a base model, too. Some of the wiring is in place for other options, too. Not to snap at you, but if you put exactly what you are wanting to know in the title of your post, you will attract more answers. It also makes the search function a whole lot more user friendly.

    Welcome to TW!

I have a 2012 4x4 base model. It has wiring for most of the upgrades. I'm getting the parts together to put in fogs. I'm going to use LED pods. The best part about base models is that we didn't pay for the extras we don't want and can add the ones we do, for less than Toyota charges for them.
