    Sorry total noob on suspension...
    And I know I’m 3rd Gen but....
BJs, TREs, rack bushings, LCA bushings?
What do they mean and should I add/swap? I’m getting parts together to order from Headstrong.

    Thank you !

Keep reading, you are in the right place. BJ's are ball joints, (at least they are here, but equally important however). You have uppers and lowers UBJ, LBJ. Rack is a steering rack and the associated bushings. CA is a control arm on the front suspension, they have bushings on both. You have lowers and uppers hence the Lca and Uca. Uppers are whats frequently swapped. Lowers are generally swapped in a long travel or mid travel suspension setup. (LT or MT).

Ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack bushings, and lower control arm bushings. Most of those things need replacing anyway due to age and mileage - normal wear and tear stuff...

For a 3rd gen, you probably don't need to worry too much about those things. If you go mid travel (extended travel coilovers), you might consider polyurethane control arm bushings (upper and lower) since they give you a little better articulation since they don't bind like the stock rubber ones.

Long travel shocks and extended travel shocks are not the same. Extended travel shocks should work fine with it a 1" uni-ball UCA. However, long travel shocks require long travel upper and lower control arms.

I see, know I understand didn’t know that. Learn something new thanks for the reply. I just got a Tacoma and I plan to to build it slowly but surly. Just don’t know where to start. I been doing research/watching videos of different builds.

since I don’t have a lot of money to drop all at once and I’m be daily this a lot this winter to go snowboarding. I plan to buy the lower ball joint that total chaos just release and some new tires. 265/70/16R hopefully they don’t rub and eventually down the line buy the 1” UCA and shocks.

Don't waste your money on those TC uniball LBJs. They are expensive and not the most effective use of the limited amount of cash you have to work with. Traditional OEM LBJs will work just fine for your situation at a fraction of the cost and leave you with money better spent elsewhere.

Mostly you would do an aftermarket upper control arm like a uniball type or perhaps an SPC ball joint type because you have added lift and then have trouble getting a good alignment.

But if you are going to run a 31" tire (265/70r16), you may not need to add very much lift to clear them.

If you live is some place that salts the roads don’t go with a uniball it will be exposed. Go with something like JBA uppers they are from Utah and sealed up so rust won’t be an issue.
