Hey Chris, did you let your truck run for at least a few minutes to make sure there aren't any tiny oil leaks?

Yes. I let it warm up to regular operating temps to break in the turbo. Checked for oil leaks.

Had a big one when I didnt tighten down the oil feed line into the turbo

First wanna say turbo looks Damn sexy finally seeing it hooked up.

For the skew thing. It controls the main Toyota o2 that does your lamda measurement. It will feel nice since you already have the tuner to skew it when you have secondary injectors. If you don't skew when the secondaries kick on closed loop during low spool, the primary injectors will trim back fuel. Just that little extra gas at the bottom adds some nice supercharger like power. This is only if your afr go a bit lean during cl acceleration. Depends if the turbo spools up early. Big turbo this isn't even on your radar.

Oh yeah I know exactly what you mean. Part throttle boost for me is in the 14 AFR range and pretty sluggish then when I get on it, she flies down the road at 12 AFR in open loop. Couldn't you technically tune up the secondaries in low boost light throttle up until trims weren't an issue or would it be too inconsistent?

You could richen it up through the secondaries until the computer can't trim but you'll get a rich code and probably still be lean. Honestly it is super easy to skew the o2. Even easier than commanding secondaries to spray. I need the south park Al Gore meme right here. Type in some values and see if feels good again. I could give you my table which is conservative and you could pull back or command more skew.

So made a small mistake. Forgot the wastegate valve seat so it leaks by at idle... Going to have to pull the turbo and fix that tomorrow. Also ordered a cooler to rout the water feed to the turbo. Turns out the steam wasn't exhaust but the water boiling in the turbo.

Waste gate should be fixed tomorrow and water cooler on by tuesday'ish..

Got all the parts ordered for my exhaust and tuning session scheduled for next week if all goes well.

Yeah that little wastegate ring is absolutely crucial. I made that mistake when I tore into my wastegate to replace that gasket. So the steam was coming out of your turbo??? How do you know that a cooler is going to make enough of a difference to stop it from vaporizing?

How the heck is coolant steaming from the turbo? That sounds very peculiar.

Also, clock the turbo so that the coolant inlet is lower than the outlet. That way when the engine is off, it will still circulate coolant until then temp drops enough. This is per Garrett and Borg Warner.

Don't clock it so much that the oil has a hard time draining though.

Has anyone actually swapped Camry cams into a 5vz? I've seen lots of talk about it, but not heard of anyone actually doing it.

Fixed the water leak. I had the washers on wrong.
I figured it out. Put a small cooler in anyways.

Snow is delaying parts for the exhaust build so going to be next week.

 suxs. Just found an oil leak from one of my spark plugs. I smelled something like bruning tires. Turns out I was cooking oil on my manifold. Shit. Gotta get some spark plug tube gaskets.
