    Very nice shocks !!!

I'm confused though, so I have to ask the asshole question here.... Big money for reliable, high performing shocks.... but little money for cheap, unreliable turbo..... What was the logic here Chris ?

What is so unreliable? Seems working to me. And I know everything else that comes with a turbo, knowledge, and install is nothing cheap at all. I've heard of people running through Garrett and precision turbos just as much as so called "cheap" ones. Fact is the mechanics and physics of a turbo are relatively the same. Just my 2 cent things.

Only for the sake of responding to your comment, and not to carry and bearing one way or the other on StAndrews turbo choice. As he has already marked out his plans for that.

Extremely precision machining tolerances, quality of materials used, extremely high precision balancing practices, and quality control of manufacturing. That is the difference between brand name and knockoff turbos. Once in the users hands, they can just as easily & quickly destroy a either level of quality without the proper care and procedures of install or operation.

One safety difference, is that higher end turbos do a better job of containment in the event of catastrophic failure than their cheap knockoff counterparts.

    People make me laugh...

    Not directed toward you Chris.
Let's see, let me count how many turbos I've either installed or systems I've worked on... Well, I count 23 that I actually remember, and custom installed 3 different ones (vehicles that weren't originally turbo)

Only reason I bring that up, is it points to the variation of turbos I've been around. The Chinese turbos fail time, and time, and time again over the reputable brands. A Garrett turbo can be had at very reasonable prices.

I don't care if you paid $100 for it or $1500... It's about quality control, not what you paid.

Ohhhh, I forgot the type of quality control China products have, Harbor Freight must love you guys.

Mine is CX too! I feel for the price they are very good. As also appears the construction of our manifolds. Ceramic ball bearing and a billet wheel for 530 bucks. (Military discount at cx too). I looked at hundreds of turbos, thought these had the most to offer for the price. Thank you too Chris for all the input you have provided me

I'm also running a China turbo. There's many over on ls1 tech running China turbos and with great success. Just gotta open them up and make sure there's nothing in them and you're all good.

If that's a gamble you're willing to take, hey it's all good... "IF" it happens to fail and you starting cussing up a storm, i'm one of those guys that's going to laugh my ass off at you and be sure to point out the fact you rolled the dice on cheap shit and got bitten ;)

Anyway, what i'm really pointing out here though, is why go cheap on something like a turbo, and super high end on shocks... He went cheap on something that had the potential to cost him the most money under the right circumstances of failure, and expensive on something that doesn't really matter other than ride quality... If i have to cut cost on one or the other, seems like it should be the shocks ????

He already plans on getting a better turbo. No point though when it comes as a package for the first go around.

China turbo are great for the initial get up and running and work out the bugs before blowing big money on the right turbo or waiting for the right used one to pop up. Gives you a great start point if you want to go bigger or smaller down the road.

Mike, again appreciated but you're not the only person on here that has touched a turbo. I know what I got and why :notsure:

Lol, you guys are being kinda harsh on him. He's right though, there's a lot of Chinese turbos out there that are of dubious quality, and don't last. There's also lots out there that last just as long as the big brands. It's hit or miss with the Chinese stuff.
