I would call them about this... Those dont even look like they are made for the 05+ from the picture and they dont look like an OEM retro either. They look like an after market headlight. IN that case probably along the same quality lines as the ebay stuff. that could be had cheaper with a HID kit and IMHO look better.

Hey you can do alot better then that, I am not sure where to get the Euro style headlights since I havent done a search in a while. But I foung a comperable set for a little over 300 awhile ago. As far as the HID, slimcubby has a group buy on them about once a month for about $120. I would definately do a lot more research before you buy.

    That's what I'm doing HERE :)

I ordered a set of H10s from DDM for my foglights (the stock ones are useless except to light up curbs a little) and am looking into options for the mains. The drop-in Bi-xenons have me a little worried about cops (MSP aren't customer-friendly and I commute at NIGHT), so I really want a projector set. Maybe.

    THanks.

those are 01-04 taco headlights, will not fit your current gen taco.

i am going to try to make a bolt on projector setup here in the coming months...keep an eye out for it!

I love the light output of the Retros in the second gens. But, I just cant stand the looks. They just dont look right to me with that little projector in that big housing with just a shroud around them. In the coming months I *MIGHT* be doing a Q45 retro. :)

those are those huge bug eye projectors right? w/ the 6 little lenses?

if so, make sure you check the output pics of those BEFORE you spend the money and retro those....hint...not good output...! check HIDplanet.com/forums for a ton of output/retro pics...you can read more months there and still come across different ideas.

I've seen output pics of Q45 retros before and they output is fine. Maybe youre thinking of those knockoff Q45 retros you can buy on ebay.

As stated above, those are for the first gen Tacomas.

These are the kinds available for the 2nd gen Tacomas:

    Gen 1

    Gen 2

    Gen 3

All you would need to complete them are some HIDs from either VVME.com or DDMTuning.com.

All you would need is a complete single beam kit with size H1.

yea, we know...DDM is the best, VVME is awesome...both are cheap and better than retros....its really getting old! (im not the only one...;))

the OPs link is to a headlight that uses OEM projectors (E55s if i remember correctly?) and bulbs, unlike the 3 linked headlights that use inferior H1, etc bulbs. also, those aftermarket HID kits do not use D1S bulbs like linked in the original post, they used rebased aftermarket bulbs that have proven to run hotter and ruin chrome bowls and melt/burn OEM headlights.

The linked headlights are in an entirely different league than the ones you posted.

OP, the above headlights are not nearly as good as the ones posted for the 1st get. currently though, nothing like you posted is available for the 2nd gen tacos. i hope to change that in the coming months, but the only way to get what you linked to is to do a retrofit. see the link in my sig or HIDplanet.com/forums for more info. also, pm me if you need some help!

yea, i checked, i am talking about the OEM Q45s, not the egay ones.

search over on HIDplanet.com concerning these projectors...i have read that they cost a ton and put out decent light, but nothing compared to the TLs, S2000s, or FX35s...hope that helps, just trying to help you out from my readings in the past...

Those are for the 2nd gen Tacomas....

I don't think you understood me correctly over on TN. The only thing I said that was better about a PnP HID kit (no projector) in stock housing is the brightness. I love going down dark roads and being able to see almost everything. Yes, I know projectors are better for all other reasons (hence my current setup and new project ;)).

I think you're missing one small detail. Considering that he posted this thread in the '2nd Gen. Tacomas" section of the forum, I would think he has a 2nd Gen. Tacoma. His initial post was a link to a pair of headlights with projectors and HID kit for a 1st Gen. Tacoma. Also, seeing that he thought it was kind of 'pricey', I suggested some alternatives that are less expensive.

No reason to get in a piss match.. again. You don't have to preach and gain followers. We do appreciate your info though.

    Cheers

Sorry to start a pissing match. I"m new to the forum. This is my first truck, after beating up several Volvos, Toyota vans and a Jeep with cement, brick, 2x4s, topsoil, play sand and every other damned thing I could pack in them.

I don't think I realized there WAS a 2d generation (there's a third now?) Tacoma, and I hadn't looked at the glass/housing that carefully when I saw the STARR website.

There seem to be some other options (thanks for the heads up on the eBay housing sales), I ordered some 35W 3000K HIDs from DDM for the fogs. AFter having HIDs on my Sienna (long gone, a victim of Toyota's recall of the week program) I really want better lighting (who doesn't?).

Thanks (so far) for all the information and leads. With so much information posted here it's a lot like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles...
