Start Stop tech coming to the 2GR-FKS 3.5L in 2017 Highlander

The new 6 spd manual could and may be used in other markets other than the US. The EPA is still allowing it so they offer it , but in low quantities for as long as they are allowed.

 

You can always turn it off. Have it on my wife's C300 and it's quite annoying We turn it off everytime we get in the car. It makes such a minimal difference on mileage from what we've observed, we're scratching our heads trying to figure out why the time and effort is spent on such tech. Particularly annoying in the summer when it can only turn off for 60 seconds or so before having to restart for the AC, so it's off then on while at a longer stop light.

 

The chevy twins also offer a manual according to the sales guy I spoke with this summer, but he said it was very difficult to get one, so I told him it would be very difficult to get my business, but call me if you get one that I can try. He never called so I can not confirm.
