So its a brisk 5 degrees out this morning. So I decide to start my truck and let it warm up while I am getting ready, good Idea... Until I get out to my truck and its locked...while its running so i called AAA to come unlock it! Felt pretty stupid calling into work over this but I guess shit happens! For some reason I thought that my truck wouldn't do this?

I had one of those magnetic key holders years ago. I would check it semi regularly. But the first time I needed it the thing had fallen off.
I keep a spare wire tied in a hidden spot so I can get to it when I need it. I hope I never need it.

I'm surprised it locked. My '99 wouldn't lock when it was running. Used to drive me nuts when I wanted it to.

I've had a few of those magnetic key holders and they keep felling off. And I am real suprised that it did that its never done that before but now I have a key in my wallet. It was actually -8 this morning so maybe the cold caused the truck to do weird things but who knows just have to make sure I have a spare (not in the truck) from now on.

I've had an extra key zip tied to my frame somewhere for about 6 months, haven't had to use it yet but it hasn't fallen off yet.

I got a magnetic key holder with a keyring hole in one end and ziptied the holder to my frame so that I don't have to cut the zip tie loose if I ever get locked out.

i used to keep my spare in my wallet but it made it to bulky so a hide-a-key was 2$ well spent

Been there, done that. Not anymore. I keep a spare key in my wallet. I shaved the top part of it off so it's real small. :D

So I even tried it again last night when I got home and the doors will not lock with one open and the truck running:confused: Now I have a spare key hidden and I am just assuming that the cold weather was messing with my truck...
