While that is annoying, that's a safety feature they did intentionally and isnt sometjing you can really work around with push to start tacomas. I can bypass that however because I have an actual HKey ignition/fob and not a push to start. My truck only shuts off when I put my foot on the break without first inserting my key into the ignition

My kids got me this for Christmas and I installed it yesterday, 2018 push button start. Simple, complete plug and play, no splicing, it works great!

I see a few perks above and beyond the major need of climate control in the cab:
    1. I've always let my vehicles run for a few minutes before driving to let the oil get pumped up to every nook and cranny, this does it for me without having to sit and wait.
    2. I don't have a garage so when there is snow and ice on the windows, this can help you with scraping. It will also reduce wear and tear on wiper blades, lets you see out of the truck, and get the powers windows operable, much quicker.
I was very impressed how logically things came apart and went back together on the truck, extremely good design work by Toyota!

    UPDATE:

I started having a problem where I start the truck remotely and when I get in and restart it, it acts like it has an electrical problem. Dash lights flickering and the engine knocking and banging. It will either eventually start and run properly or I have to push the start button and try again.

I contacted their tech support and it was like dealing with USPS, they told me to uninstall, inspect, and re-install the unit. I expressed that I did not want to go through that hassle unless it was the only solution. They have ignored all of my subsequent emails.

    STAY AWAY FROM START X!
