A guy had a similar story with a brand new TT that was turning into a lemon after taking it to the dealer a handful of times. He kept vwvortex up to date while he was demanding not a new TT but an upgrade for the 20k more TTRS. For the hassle of having to take his car to the dealer so many times. The internet was set ablaze

Toyota is willing to replace the motor. OP says that is not good enough. I want a TRD PRO because you inconvenienced me.

Me neither. Been driving a Tacoma 7 days a week for over 9 years now. Cost me gas, normal service and wear items.
1 trip in for warranty work and 1 battery.

Yeah, upgrade to a PRO isn't reasonable but a catastrophic failure that early on would make me wonder about the rest of the build quality. I'd definitely try for a new truck that's the same value but wouldn't expect one.

Toyota builds approximately 250,000 Tacomas a year. Not every one of them is going to be perfect or go for ever. Toyota is replacing the motor under warranty. That is all they are obligated to do.

    Interesting mindset. Gonna disagree though.

So when I went to pick up my SR5 in May, during my PDI I noticed the front valence was scratched. Maybe I should have had a tantrum and demanded a Pro too?
I didn’t, I notified the sales manager before I left the lot and the dealership offered to replace it for free or give me a check for $250. I took the check and could not be happier.
The engine issue could not be known ahead of time. But anything cosmetic is on the buyer to notice prior to leaving the lot so you can’t really complain about a scratch on the truck later.

(For when the aircraft manufacturer faxes a copy of the check to the engine manufacturer... and the engine manufacturer faxes back a picture of the engine)

You act like one homeboy built that whole truck from the ground up lol. He fucked up the engine! He probably fucked up the interior too!

You are right . I should have bowed to your superior intellect from the start. I hope you can find a way to forgive me for my ignorance.

We don't even know if it was an assembly issue. For all we know it could it could be a bad casting. Incorrect alloy on the rings. Who knows.

Why can't Tacoma owners be like the Tesla fanboys that accept and embrace misaligned panels, parts that fall off, parts purchased from Home Depot, missed timelines, etc..

If the truck had 300 miles on it and they said the engine was refurbished; with the Toyota factory warranty and a discount....I would not have any issues buying that truck.
