    Hello,

    My truck has been having issues with starting for months now, it starts when it wants to.
    sometime on first try and other times it will take a hundred times. Battery if fairly new, but connections can be loose, but as tight as they can get. Truck is getting plenty of power, headlights, dashboard etc. I figured it's the starter, looking for starters and I see most will say
    "compatible", is compatible = a for sure fit, but its not original part?
    I'm ordering online and want to get it right the first time.

    Does anyone have hints or advice for getting it right first time,
    me and my buddy are putting it in this weekend.

    Thanks, I find this forum extremely helpful, I enjoy reading the threads and found them comforting.

    Is your truck an automatic or manual?
    When I did mine, and my truck has the automatic, the job was....not fun.
