I have a 1998 taco, 3.4 V6. lately i've been experiencing problems with the starter. ocasionally i'll go to start my truck, so i turn the key and start the car, but the starter keeps running. even after turn the car off, the starter continues to run. the only way i can stop the starter from running continuously is to remove one of the battery cables and completely remove power to it. I removed the fuse and put it back on and it fixed it for a while, but then it happened again. any ideas?

You might need a new starter or rebuild the one you got. There are contacts that activate a solenoid inside the starter. After time the contacts begin to stick...basically weld themselves together for a short period. a 2x4 and a hammer is a quick fix if you have the problem again, just hit the starter case and hopefully knock it loose.

EDIT: You might keep the relay in mind also, it could be sticking as well.
