I've replaced mine 2x. I never took the starter apart or disconnected the driveshaft but it is a bitch.

Ok, so been about week trying to find this bolt, socket to ratchet combo and impact to squeeze into the wheel well and underneath my truck. This is so ridiculous and had bought starter and it’s wrong one. Anyways going to try to undo the bolt that connects the starter to the engine from behind. Still can’t even break top bolt. Yes, have 1GR-FE, and the intake is in the way as well as o2 sensor getting better. I’m sure. Dude, all these connections need some visual to reconnect before some idiot thinks they are helping me and does something smarter than me to hook it back up wrong. Ridiculous, almost 7 days on this removal and I have small hands and tools.
