looking for ideas on starter! my son put a new starter, new battery cables and replaced starter relay fuse. plus new battery! his taco would not turn over, so he brought a new battery and drove it for three days and now it won't start again. just to make sure it wasn't the new battery, his friend put his battery in there and no luck. he lives an hour away and i'm going down tomorrow to tow it back to my house. my thoughts are maybe neutral safety switch or ignition switch and maybe alternator. do you guys have any thoughts on what may be the problem? thanks in advance for any help! its an 02 prerunner w/ a 3.4L! 2wd!

Can you jump it off at all? If you can get it running hook a volt meter up and see what voltage its pushing. I am sure many more will chime in to help ya more than I can

If a brand new battery dies in 3 days, I would say the Alternator. But....I would 1st check the wires to the starter and the ground wires to be sure. Putting your friends battery in and it still not starting has me a bit baffled. Something is not connected correctly.

If the starter he got was aftermarket, it might not be cold weather rated. I always recommend getting the cold weather rated starters, no matter what. It puts out a little more power.
