    Hello

I have quite a weird issue going on, it doesnt affect me much as its fairly avoidable, but i would like to try and get some suggestions on where to start looking or if its something that is normal.

So my truck has trouble starting if i stop and sit with key in ignition, not running, but just sitting with the key turned off, or to acc. When i go to turn it back on, it will start and immediately die.

An example of what im talking about

Yesterday i took my wife to an appointment and didnt go inside, i stayed in my truck and turned it off since it was nice outside. I left the key in the ignition, but never opened the door or got out. She came back on 30 min later and when i go to start, it would start and die immediately. To get it to start i have to start it while pushing on the gas pedal and revving high. Usually i have to do that a few times as it will die the first couple times.

It has no issues starting any other time.

Check the battery with a proper load test and clean the throttle body

Yea sounds like the classic weak battery and dirty throttle body, battery voltage drops low enough during cranking to reset the ECM and make it forget it's idle.

Second to clean the throttle plate, and the MAF sensor. Check plugs for fouling.

FWIW, CRC makes a MAF cleaner and throttle cleaner. I use each one on each part. GTG.

But it starts then dies. Wouldn't that be the alternator?

    No that wouldn't cause a start/stall.

Just for fun next time before cranking the engine cycle the key to on then off, pausing in on for a couple seconds to see if it makes a difference
