IMG_2426.jpg IMG_2427.jpg IMG_2428.jpg IMG_2429.jpg Updated pics. Talked with the advisor yesterday and he told me mine is the last frame toyota is allowing them to do. Theyve put a halt on frame replacements. I can only assume its as a result of the recent class action lawsuit

Wow congrats on the new frame! I have an 04 who's frame was maybe a little better in shape than yours so I figured i'd sand it and recoat it myself thinking Toyota would never replace it. Any pics of the real bad spots?

Wow...I must've got in under the wire. I had a feeling the recent settlement may have had something to do with my less than stellar dealer experience. No updates, no call back, no rental. "We'll call you when the frame comes in"

    Pretty much stock right now
That's a fantastic record of the replacement!

The settlement announced on Nov 13 is for 2nd gen tacomas (2005-2010), tundras and sequoias, and extends the frame replacement program to another 1.5 million vehicles at an estimated cost of 3.3 billion dollars. Toyota will warranty these frames for 12 yrs from the "in service" date. This settlement has no bearing on the ongoing extended warranty on 1st gen tacomas, and in light of this new agreement, would seem to make it more difficult, if not impossible, for them to change the terms of the existing warranty.

Toyota probably wishes they never partnered with Dana, the supplier of all the rust-prone frames.

Perhaps those of us 1st geners with declined frame replacement cases should pursue a class action of our own.
