leveling kit and mud tires with offset bulletholes wheels

I went to crank my truck and it turned over moral then started but cut off immediately and all the lights went off. when I put jumper cables on it the lights just flicker and it won't turn over it sounds like the battery is dead. what is wrong

used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6

bypass the battery wires with jumper cables to be sure its not a bad/broken/corroded main wire
