hello I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 4x4 and have problem with it starting when it heats up and I shut it off. I have replaced the starter and the starter relay still have the same problem. please someone let me know what is wrong or what u think. I have owned the truck for the last 40000 miles and just this last warm spring have had this problem. i turn the key and the starter relay clicks does not crank the funny thing is it doesn't do it all the time just when it wants to. all it takes is time for it to cool down a lil like 10 to 15 min then it will always start.

"... problem with it ... " is not descriptive enough.
    - Turn key and complete silence ?
    - Turn key and something clicks ?
    - Turn key and motor 'cranks' but doesn't fire at all ?
    - Turn key and motor 'cranks' and sputters?

My money would be on the copper contacts in the starter solenoid.
If you have a an original factory starter, its better to re-build it for $20 than get a new aftermarket starter.

Sorry, I didn't catch that you replaced the starter motor in your first post, I just saw 'starter relay'.

So, the relay clicks, but the starter motor does not attempt to engage and rotate the flywheel ?
When this happens, do the headlights work OK ?

could also be dirty cable clamps, or cable internally corroded.
