    Hello,
I recently purchased a tacoma sr5 tdr 3.4l. The thing ran great. Then I got it to the shop. Changed out the stock stereo and installed new speakers. Had some trouble getting it started. It would start and then stall in 3 seconds . Couldn't hear the fuel pump so i replaced it. Still same thing. So i went threw cleaned sll the grounds up. It finally fired up. Took it down the road and on way back it died and I was right back to square one. It threw codes for the cam and crank sensor. So I've replaced them along with the tps ,throttle body ,maf, ignitor, coil packs with plugs and wires. Still the same result. Truck fires up then dies . Is it a security issue? The ecm? This is killing me. I'm pretty good w a wrench I always can get things running . Any suggestions? Thanks

If it happened right after the shop it could be a security issue. Do you have the security package? Personally I would've taken it back to that shop as soon as that happened.

Could be many things… my go to is the grounds on the intake manifold. D/S on the upper intake there are 6 or 8 brown wires crimped on ring terminals that ground the PCM and the sensors on the engine. The wires break internally so if you think it is OK because the insulation is good you could be wrong.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Having fired the Parts Canon the problem is now far worse then when you started .

All the parts you removed were tested and were found to have failed?

Now the truck still stalls but all the codes have been cleared and have not returned??

Some place you have a poor connection broken wire or failed new part out of the box.

One circuit at a time. Having the EWD for your truck will make this easier.

    Good Luck.

Really shot yourself in the foot with all that work. You had one problem, one way to wind it back, and now you are firmly in no mans land.

ASSUMING all the new stuff you installed is good. What happens if you take out the new head unit? Your '04 may have had an RS3000 module from the factory- do you use that, or did you have an after market alarm system installed?
