I've got a 2013 prerunner and every once in awhile it has trouble starting up but eventually gets there. I know this is a problem in colder months but even recently it was 65°and this still happened. Do I need a new battery or what would there problem be?

Same thing happens to me. 2015 Tacoma. I'm not to worried and it doesn't seem to be a battery issue... I'd say 19/20 times it starts first try. 1/20 times it hesitates or takes two tries. Weird.

Same thing happens to me on my 2013 Limited. It's almost like it's missing or I don't hold the key long enough to start

Not sure why that would be normal but okay... Just a little embarrassing when you go in to start a pretty new car and all you here is the starter screeching

This happened on my 07 a few weeks ago. First time I've ever had a problem getting my Tacoma started. It took 4 or 5 tries before it cranked. Other than that one time mine always starts on the 1st or 2nd try.

So, when this happens, you hear the starter spin up but the bendix doesn't engage the flywheel and it makes a higher pitched whine noise? The engine doesn't turn over at all?
