Color and race are irrelevant. If you want welfare, prove you are a legal citizen of this country & prove you have a legit reason to receive it. Go get tested if you choose to receive the benefits & if you feel being tested is unconstitutional then don't fucking sign up. Gender is not irrelevant. Female recipients should not be rewarded for becoming baby factories. Give them their due and tell them the more kids they have the smaller their living becomes, period. Put time limits on it for all able bodied people, just like unemployment benefits have. Eliminate all the backwards ass loopholes & fraud shit that screws the people who make welfare possible, which are the working taxpaying legal citizens of this country, and testing for welfare pays for itself.

You pay taxes , the government decides how to best distribute these funds , that's how it works .

I was having this discussion with my father who volunteers for Red Cross. He's been to hundreds of home fires, and every major natural disaster this country has seen in the last 8 years.

He will be the first on to tell you that our welfare program isn't working. I can't tell you how many times he tells me how he is at some run down 1 bedroom apartment, no beds/couches/tv/shelves/dressers/nothing at all but a mattress on the floor in one room and clothes scattered everywhere. By the way, there are 6 people living in this apartment. Husband, wife, 4 kids. Kids are dirty, bugs in the room, living conditions are not what you'd call 'safe'.

Yet when he asks the lady for info, she pulls out her new Ipad2, her husband is on his iphone4, and once my dad cuts them a check the get into their navigator with 22 inch rims and drive off. That's my hard earned taxes at work. Not helping the family but making sure they 'look' like they have money. Worthless humans.

So your kids are suffering, your house is a biological nightmare, so lets give these lazy shits money so they can buy a nice car, big wheels, and Ipads.

I have no sympathy for these people in 'shitty conditions' at all unless some natural disaster put you there and your trying hard to get out of there. Which really isn't the case most of the time. And neither does my dad anymore. The saddest thing I've ever heard him say is "After seeing what really exists in our world, the low life's who use and abuse the system of hard working people, I don't want to be a part of this world anymore. I have lost my faith in humanity."

My dad was always the guy who'd take us on Christmas to hand out food and gifts he bought with his hard earned money, to homeless people and kids. Every thanks giving we were at the homeless shelters handing out food, and my dad would show up with 10-20 turkeys that we cooked for days before for all the homeless to eat. He would buy a big bag of toys, and dress up like santa at the end of the day and hand out toys to little kids. He'd put in overtime just to make sure he had enough for his family to have a good holiday, and for strangers to have a good holiday. For over 20 years I did this with my dad. Now he looks at these people with disgust and anger. I lost my faith in humanity a long time ago, but I never thought he would.

All of this " every man for himself " mentality is counter productive especially considering the United States is basically teetering on bankruptcy .

Some unity will be needed to address that too .

I have no faith in the humans you speak of but have not lost faith in all humanity because lots of good people are still out there doing the things you speak of to help truly deserving people.

DHS Officers Armed With Semiautomatics Set Up Unannounced ID Checkpoint
Staff of Florida Social Security office not informed of drill, Homeland Security officials refused to talk to media

Residents of Leesburg, Florida were shocked to see their local Social Security office turned into a random Homeland Security checkpoint Tuesday morning, as DHS officers armed with semiautomatic rifles and accompanied by sniffer dogs checked identifications of locals.

“With their blue and white SUVs circled around the Main Street office, at least one official was posted on the door with a semiautomatic rifle, randomly checking identifications. And other officers, some with K-9s, sifted through the building,” reports the Daily Commercial.
The activity was part of Operation Shield, an unannounced drill conducted by the DHS’ Federal Protective Service centered around “detecting the presence of unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive or dangerous activities.”
Thomas Milligan, district manager for the Social Security Administration office, said staff were not informed their offices were about to be stormed by armed FPS officers. DHS officials refused to answer questions asked by local media and left with no explanation at noon.
“Part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FPS is the federal law enforcement agency that provides integrated security and law enforcement services to over 9,000 federally-owned and leased buildings, facilities, properties and other assets,” states the report.
Indeed, the FPS is used for a variety of roles, not just limited to setting up unannounced ID checkpoints.
As part of the reinvention of the Department of Homeland Security to serve as a tool of political repression, the Federal Protective Service is used by the DHS to track the political activities of peaceful advocacy groups. The FPS was seen arresting photographers in Portland last November during an OWS rally.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
In 2004, the FPS arrested a veteran for the crime of complaining to his local VA office in Des Moines.
A separate component of Homeland Security, VIPR (Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response), recently received an expansion in funding from Congress that will see 2011′s figure of around 9,300 checkpoints increased with the addition of 12 new VIPR teams, who will be used to carry out security checks at bus depots, train stations, ferry ports and highways.
The extra money is being demanded despite the fact that there is “no proof that the roving viper teams have foiled any terrorist plots or thwarted any major threat to public safety,” according to an L.A. Times report.

I think teetering on hyper-inflation is more appropriate. As long as we can print money we won't go bankrupt.

I'll just cost everyone a million dollars for a loaf of bread.

Again, really long so I won't quote it all..

I wonder if this was a sting or raid to nab a suspected terrorist that was cloaked under the guise of "drill" to not alarm the commonfolk.

Again, speculation. But you don't really see these as the norm, or even anything more than random occurrence. Not saying that won't increase with time....

It would be interesting to see the comparison in cost between the welfare system for it's own citizens and the amount the US government doles out to nations like Egypt and Isreal .
