Do you have a lifetime drivetrain warranty? I would contact Toyota Corp, and if you have th warranty drive the shit out of it till it drops. Call them up and say it's now it's for sure broke, want to fix it now?

Check the fluid yourself. It's easy to do. The procedure on how to do it is in the tech forum

Nope they're manufactured by the wave of a wand from the Tranny Magician. They come out automatically calibrated and filled with tranny fluid. To suggest otherwise is blasphemous.

    Yes.

But I can't recall just where it is (sticky in the Tech forum?) because I use my dipstick. :p

Since your profile doesn't tell folks where you live, and you posted in the general forum, not the Florida section, I'll offer some info that might help folks more local.

It's Wesley (not Whesley) Chapel Toyota, located in Wesley Chapel Florida.

If you live in the region and get your best deal there, buy there. You can have it serviced / warranty work done at any Toyota dealer, and there are quite a few in the area.

Not speaking for or against the dealer, just adding clarification.

Do you need to know, or care?
Does it to it shifting up through gears, every gear, or downshifting? Both?

You need to go straight to another dealer right now.....when the service is complete to your satisfaction you need to go straight to the nearest Jack in the Box. You will then need to order a #4, medium, with curly fries

So I've got a question, my transmission shifts fine.

Though sometimes it likes to shift down and help me stop when coasting to red lights and stop signs, sometimes it doesn't, I don't mind it either way just wondering why it's inconsistent. The other thing I've noticed is when it shifts down and I'm just *putting along, meaning not really accelerating or decelerating, it has small lurches as if it's debating if it should shift back down.

Also note that I don't use ECT PWR at all.

Any answers. BTW it's a 2017 Sport 4x4. I've got less than 2300 miles so far.

Are you going downhill when it shifts down?

I've had it shift down really hard almost like a tow/haul when I was breaking really hard coming down a hill to a stop sign R/R crossing. Well I say shift down hard, it shifted down smooth, but raised RPM's high to help with some engine braking.

I purchased my 16 Tacoma in Sebring but have been having it serviced in Brandon. They refuse to check the fluid levels in the transmission. They have sent their tech out to me and tried to talk me out of going to Southeast Toyota which I did, what was agreed on is I have to pay them to open it up, if its low, they will pay for it then. I had been considering taking to Wesley Chapel to look at it also.
