Good point. I do however take issue with asking Native Americans about illegal immigration, considering they didn't deal solely with 'illegal immigrants', they were overtaken by force in many regards. It wasn't as diplomatic as saying, "we're settling here", it was more coercive [with gun in face], "this is our land now - you can live over there."

I take no issue with immigrants as I am the child of an immigrant [among other reasons]. But just as I would try to blend with my host country, immigrants should take to mingling as well. Just because you're Chinese doesn't mean you should speak Chinese 90% of the time except the few times you have to speak English (thereby perpetuating your own self-consciousness of speaking English) nor should Mexicans only speak Spanish. In American, it should be highly regarded to be able to speak other languages, but primarily [in public interactions] sticking with English. We could make English the official language (on a per state basis as the Constitution expressly forbids a national language), which would likely help (and save quite a bit of money).

    If you are from CA,

    get out...

    go somewhere new
    try new things
    different kinds of people
    different weather
    different terrain

the US has tons of offer, and some people stay in one place, or a similar place there entire life.

I have been all over the US, and love the differences

    MOVE OUT!!!!

This just in: Pollution in Southern California has been shown to cause hallucinations, insanity and hysteria. The CDC recommends evacuating at your earliest convenience, before FEMA is called to 'handle' the situation :p

Good thread. I have wanted to move away from SoCal for a while and have considered Oregon and Washington myself. I was a truck driver for a year and got to see most of the states and like the west coast and colorado the best. I think you should try to visit oregon and washington, maybe do a road trip.

Not trying to be a dick so please no one take this the wrong way but, lets face it if your not a Native American you are a immigrant, trace your family tree. The native inhabitants of the Americas were greeted by Anglos with guns. So thats my point about immigration always being a problem.
My Family immigrated from Germany almost a hundred years ago so when I trace my roots I am a immigrant. Should others not have the same opportunity my family did?
Now that my rant is over I do agree it needs to be done legally, jumping a fence and buying fake documents is not legal and should be addressed.

I understand what you are saying. I just think its irrelevant considering we have been a nation for over 200 years. I am not an immigrant. I was born here. Sure, our families all originated from elsewhere, but once again it's irrelevant. You could have left everything out except the last sentence and you'd have made your point.

Good thread, I am looking into this as well. I have been all over the US, mainly for snowboarding adventures and summer time camping/road trips. My favorite places would have to be eastern WA and northern ID, very nice, and friendly people. I would give anything to move to Kelowna BC, best place I have ever been, ever, and I have been to many countries.

So, only holding me back is finding a job, and then selling my house, anyone want to hook me up, electronics or telecommunication world help me out.

Oh and get out of S.B. that city is going south fast, I use to party up there in high school, now I won't bother to make the drive, unless it's to the Bowl. Good luck

Hi Alma! First off, i would like to apologize for mis-spelling your Name on the Video i made of our Superstition meet:eek::eek:. I was trying to get it done fast and i didnt check the spelling of everyones names:eek:. Now to leave or not to leave, that is the question. If i were you i would leave Cali and head to the great state of Oregon. It is a beautiful place and im sure you will cope without seeing the beach all the time. You can become a snowbunny:D
