I got a phone call from my mother in law wanting my wife to go with her to Joann Fabrics this morning at 7-fucking-AM!! You'd think maybe, just maybe, she would've thought for a moment that we'd like to sleep in since 2 of the 3 kids were out of the house, but noooooooooo..... She "held off calling since 5am". So much for a nice relaxing day with my wife sans kids. *sigh*

Oh, I found out she wanted to go some time after dinner last night.... I just didn't expect the phone to ring at the ass crack of dawn this morning. In fact, I almost didn't get out of bed to answer it thinking "Who the fuck calls at 7am?" But then thought maybe it was important and I should get it. At least the MIL is gonna take the baby so we can go do some shopping I suppose. But that means my car/truck has to go out a second time now and use more gas right after I found out my hours are cut in half for December.

That sucks--Hubby's hours got cut too starting this week--he just lost all the overtime, but that's still a BIG chunk of a paycheck that's not that big to begin with. I wish they still had Christmas Club --my Mom says that always saved her butt when I was growing up. A little out of every check and "poof" money for Christmas presents was magically there in December! Now I have to do it myself and hope something doesn't break before I use it, like the garage door did this year--sigh. Truck was stuck in there for a week, and now it's out in the cold. :(

Yeah, corporate big wigs sent down an order to all divisions to cub sub contractor hours by 80 hours for December. I was hired through a sub contract company to replace a full time person that went to work from home. The team was shorthanded before I was hired (even approved this month to hire a 5th tech), and now they'll be even more shorthanded with my hours cut. I don't get it. Home office says "yeah, you need 5 people, hire one more", but then says "oh.... you can get by with 3 and a half". The new guy was supposed to start this coming week I think so we'll see if he gets 20 hours too or if they let him have the full 40/week. Just irritates me that they can hire another person the same week they "have" to cut my hours.
