    not at all really, and safe for children. Recommended by our pediatrician. Do you mean dangerous cause you could burn the house down?:D Yes, then it would be dangerous.

    Hey Charli, its a tube shaped candle you put in your ear while the end burns. It is very soothing and the heat draws the ear wax up out of your ear.

    here is a pro/con writeup:

    pro for me is, I can feel my sinuses opening even in my forehead and behind my eyes. It helps me tremendously. Don't do it very often either.

    in what way? im licensed to do this and it hasnt become a danger to anyone ive done this to

    thanks for postin references hossier :D

    its way safer to do this process instead of gettin the water shot down into yur ears for sure. its the most natural way to remove wax, buildup, trash and even dead bugs in people's ear (yes... some people have bugs in their ears and dont know it til they get them candled)

    my roomy's sinuses have been drainin today since we did this. it is quite relaxing. ive done this to one of my cousins who is only 8 yrs old. i couldnt help her out in one ear though bc she had a rolled up piece of notebook paper down in her ear somehow. the dr had to actually surgically remove it. but i did get most of the wax out of her other ear and it took me like 4 candles in it.

    dont knock the process til u try it. it has lots of excellent benefits

    there are some things to be concerned with. You should research it a bit before you do it.

    depends on where u go im sure. i charge like $20-$30, but spas charge at least $40-$50. but they only use 2-4 candles depending on how much time is elapsed for each place allows. i would definetly ask them how many candles they will use at first. if they tell u 2/ear then its good, if they only want to use just 1/ear call somewhere else. i used 3 in one ear on my roomy last nite and 1 in the other.

    and on everyone's negative opinion on ear candling... i havent heard one thing negative about it. have u guys even had it done to consider this to be bad from experience?? i think id rather have an ear candling done than stickin a Qtip down in my ear and risk bustin my ear drum, dont u?

    ooooooo noooooo!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    its a long cone made from beeswax that the end (not in yur ear) is lit on fire and creates a vacuum of smoke that pushes down the candle, into the ear, melts the wax then pulls the wax up thru the candle pulling out all the goo/wax/buildup/trash. at the end of the process the candle is cut open (like in my pics i posted im sure a few pgs back now) and revealed to show what all was impacted in yur ear canal

    edit: of course there is a fire retardent cloth used and a paper plate to keep things from settin on fire JUST IN CASE

    does this help?

    Will, you can very easily do this at home. We do it home all the time. Go to a local GNC store, or your local all natural or herbal store and they have the candles in stock with directions how to use. The picture ark posted was exactly how we do it, we just cut a hole in a paper plate and put the candle through the hole and keep the plate just above the ear to catch any ashes. Let it burn down till you feel it is far enough then extinguish the flame. Very simple and can be done at home. Ark is exactly right, it is very soothing. Almost puts me to sleep.:D

    Or buy them online, this is just an example, never bought mine online.....
