Post count keeps going up. The number of parts to put on the truck keeps going down.... But I'm an optimist :D

Spent $3.55 a gallon today, I have cut the weekly milage almost in half, at this rate I won't need tires until NEXT spring.

I spent 3.49 today. I'm shopping for an economic daily driver. Maybe a Tercel like the one I used to have.

How many miles do you drive a day ? I'm about 22-30, depending if I hit the gym.

I filled up this weekend for $2.79/gallon! :D A nearby Price Chopper has this deal going on where you get a few cents off gas prices from 2 local Sunoco stations for every $50 spent at the store.. I had enough points on my shopping card from the last couple months to drop the price $0.70 per gallon! :D Went from $3.49 to $2.79 after I swiped the shopping card at the pump. Guess we need to shop at that Price Chopper more often. Too bad it's nearly 30 miles away, and there's a non-participating Price Chopper (and a P&C) about 10 miles away. :(

In reality, I don't have anything to spend on a car and my wife doesn't want a 3rd vehicle in the driveway. I wouldn't spend more than 2 grand. For example, I just found a 95 Tercel with under a 100k miles in good condition for $2100. I had a car just like it, to me, that price is reasonable. I would be looking for a corolla, echo, scion.....gotta be a toyota though.

Exactly! Old n cheap vs new and no repairs needed! :D I decided on new for the truck cuz I didn't wanna fix shit. Only do mods as I could to make it more useful or as something fun to do. Not "fix it so I can go to work" type thing.

But, if you can get a decent used car real cheap that doesn't need an ass load of work, go for it! I've just dealt with too many people (friends n family) buying used cars that I end up helping fix so they'll pass inspection or just work right.
