i actually have walked into an open door before. impossible you say? well its not. apparently, when a door is open and pointed towards you, it is very VERY hard to see. imagine taking a piece of paper and turning it sideways and it becomes almost invisible. well apparently so do doors. i walked full force head first into it and immediately hit the ground cussing like a sailor.

Just came back from one of those "while you wait" oil change places. The conversation at the register went something like this:

"We changed the oil and filter, and there really wasn't much else we could do that you haven't already. What are you gonna do with that thing, run the Baja?"

    "Yup."

So how many hours did it take for them to figure out how to get past your bed pan and drain the oil? :p

I'm rather lazy. :p Besides, for the hassle of having to dispose of the old oil, it's worth the $25.

I have the belly skidplate removed at the moment. I'll pulled everything off a few weeks ago to paint all the bare metal and never put the belly pan back on. Everything else is in place, but I kept that off for when I replace the clutch in another month or two.

Of course, I may be hitting Rausch Creek in a couple of weeks so it'll find it's way back on the truck sooner than I had originally planned. Ah well...it was a good theory.

disposing of the oil is the easiest part. i just go to our local pool or creek and dump it in. then i light it on fire.... you know.... for good measure. But if i were you i would keep it and rig up some kind of oil slick feature for your truck. i dont know how well an oil slick would work in sand during a baja race but at least it would look cool

nice, probably alot more effective than dumping a bunch of oil on some sand.... but you dont get the same satisfaction of what i like to call "sticking it to mother nature"
