Cracking the ignition is to get it started. If it does end up getting disabled in some other way then at least we have the tranny and the steering unlocked for dragging purposes.

They might leave the keys outside, so I'd check around the car if you haven't already..

Doubt this will help, but it's funny to watch

Why not drag it during the day while unguarded? Set it up with a 6ft tow rope at night, so you can just hook up and drag it. Wait with a couple friends and 2way radios, and when you see a good time, jump out, hook and book. Have a second group block traffic, so they can't follow in vehicles.

If you don't mind spending some cash, get a vehicle tow dolly from haul, jack up the front end, let it fall on the tow dolly, grab jack, drive away. With practice, this can be done in less than a minute. If you don't have a jack, you can get a cheap one from harbor freight and return it when done. The tow dolly is like $45 rented from uhaul, but they may "sponsor it" if you give them recognition of some kind. Maybe leave it on the tow dolly when you display it or paint uhaul on it. Go speak to a manager.

If you wanted, you could build the go jacks out of 4x4's and heavy duty castors most furniture dollies are made with these and can easily carry 1000-1500lbs a piece. It won't matter if they break, It'll be cheap.

Down side is that you'd have to jack up the car and drop it on them. Someone would have to stay in the car and brake while you pulled it obviously.

    Just a thought.

If we fail one more time with the stealth hotwiring attempts we'll go drag the fucker out and stash it so we can get uninterrupted working time with it. But we will eventually need to have it driving under its own power. I'll check into the uhaul thing tomorrow.

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
That's what I'm saying..even if you don't drag other people's trucks out..just drag the damn Taurus..

Pop the ignition so you can steer, hook and book...roll the coal!!!

if you're at an engineering college i would like to think you would have the resources to fabricate some go-jacks pretty easily and cheaply . . .yea?

It's becoming more and more guarded. There's I was just sitting up there doing homework in my truck and observing... and I happened to see some kids trying to steal it. They make it look like it's vulnerable and when someone runs up someone is always watching and they hit this alarm thing and all the doors and windows of the house fly open and they start throwing whatever they can find. Then someone comes outside and politely asks you to leave. I have no idea how this is going to be possible.

On the bright side... I was up there just talking with them yesterday. They said some dipshit ripped apart everything and painted a dick on the hood (Whoever could that have been? ) but they said it is startable without the key or any tools... we just gotta figure out how. I saw when I was up there that they were working under the hood and had the engine bay fuse block open... so I'm kinda guessing the start switch is under the hood. I have a few other ideas too... found some out of place wires that i thought were for the sound system they put in the back but they're worth another look. I think my best chance is early morning... they're all up all night guarding but I'm guessing by about 6 they're mostly asleep. Looks like I'm getting up early tomorrow.

Yeah it's removable... they take it out at night. It's just so they can make noise on campus it's like 2 12" subs and one 6" speaker and an amp all on one box.

In other news I FUCKING HAD IT! We were all at the introduction of the homecoming court announcement ceremony and I heard them talking right behind me about how someone was trying to take it so one guy ran out and scared them all off. They told him to guard it too but he didnt want to so I took my chance.

This thing is booby trapped as hell. There's motion sensors in the trunk hole and the big roof hole and on all the doors that set off alarms on the car and in their house. It's started with some kind of switch sequence now... I found 2 of them. One turns the ignition on and the other was a fake that just set the alarm off. Anyway I didn't wanna screw with it for too long so I got the ol' taco out and hooked er up and took off with another kid steering. I got to the stop sign AT THE EDGE OF CAMPUS I was home free. Just as I was stopping at a stop sign I heard someone yell HEY YOU FUCKERS ARE CHEATING and I hit the brakes too hard. He smacked my rear bumper then I took off again but the force knocked the tow rope loose and we were dead ducks in the middle of the road. Now we have no car and a little ding in my bumper (it wrinkled the hood of the taurus though.. :) ) I am unbelievably livid. Campus looks like an ant hill now everyone is swarming around trying to figure out who has the car and we even had most of the fraternity believing we had it. I guess I sparked everyone's hope again if nothing else. We have till friday to get it. I think we can do it.

There was probably like 6 guys that jumped into the car as we were driving away they were all pumped that we had it. The senior ran us down and as I took off from the stop sign with the car hooked it popped loose. I went about a block because the street was a one way and it was a standoff with all the freshmen and the 1 senior... They all got out of the car but wouldn't leave (we wanted to watch him start it) but we eventually gave up after he said fine it'll sit here and walked off. I think I have an idea where the switch is... he reached way over on the passenger side somewhere to start it. The house is now teeming with frosh just terrorizing them running around. I decided to do homework until things cool off a little

I can't really explain it... but there's a certain etiquette to it. Like when you get caught it's like oh shit man oh well then you just kinda sit there and bs with the guys for awhile. It's a friendly game and you just gotta admit when you lose.
