Rust-Oleum burnished amber spray paint mixed with a spritz of Rust-Oleum aged copper... Spray them into a small disposable bowl and mix them together... Use a small model paint brush and touch up.... It's been 3 years and several tire rotations and it's held up fine...

Every tire rotation I clean and wax my wheels and pay attention to the center bore.. I make sure to wax that as well

Did you coat the entire bore? Or just the scuffed areas? Do you have a picture?

I only touched up the areas where there was missing paint... It's brushed on so it isn't a professional job, but you'd never be able to tell.... Get a qtip and some alcohol and clean the scratch well... Then get the paint and lightly brush it onto the scuff.... 1swipe and go heavy...... Let it dry... Don't do multiple brush strokes or it will look like crap

Thanks for the tips, sucks these tire shops ruined our wheels. I guess damage is common. I looked at my old methods wheels. They have scuffs as well just not as noticeable because the bore is unpainted and center caps covers it.

We recommend using the back coning method for tire balancing. Here's a good video on it, watch and see how it is done correctly.

Thanks vuth I wish I knew this before having them installed. I guess the pros didn't know either. AMERICA'S Tire shop let me down. At the end of the day they're wheels on a truck eventually scuffs will appear

    Its
It's not common at a reputable place. The owner of the shop was mortified that it happened. He obviously didn't charge me and also said that he would give me 50%off my next set of tires..

It was annoying since my truck was new and the wheels were new, but worse crap happens... Since then my wheels haven't had any blemishes, but someone smashed into the back of my truck.... Crap happens man.

Here's a pic of one of the wheels I touched up... This was 3 years ago and I'm recovering from ACL surgery so I haven't washed my truck in about 6months, so all the dirt makes it even harder to determine they were marred during the balancing.

Like I said I used Rust-Oleum burnished amber spray paint... Sprayed it into a soda cap then used a spritz of Rust-Oleum aged copper ..... Mixed it with a model paintbrush ...it was almost a perfect match for the bronze..... When you apply it... Apply it heavier than needed and only use 1 stroke.. it should blend good enough to barely be able to tell

I honestly didn't even bother to notify the tire shop, it was at a America's Tire shop. I didn't notice until the next day. I have the black wheels so it should be easier to match. And yikes yours look like it was several scuffs. Mine are light but still noticeable. I will make sure to mention about the back cone method for balancing on my next set of tires.

Finally installed the SCS F5 wheels on my taco after doing the lift and BMR. These are -38 wrapped with Nitto Ridge Grappler 35s. No rubbing on street driving but I am expecting to see rubbing on the trail though. Well, I guess I will cross the bridge once I get there lol.

Anyone running the F5 wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's 285/70 R17 in the SL load? They say that tire is right under 49 lbs. Thinking about dialing this in as my wheel/tire setup in the 17x8.5 -10 OS which would put the total weight per corner right around 70 lbs. Hoping I'd get some feedback on what kind of MPGs I'd be looking at?

(I'm stuck in the 265/285 looks/Off-road performance vs mpg dilemma, and trying to justify 33s)

    Thanks in advance
