I have a huskey. Does yours just chill in the back of the bed not tied up or anything. I'm afraid mine would jump out. He always has to be on a lease or he would def run away, escape artists!

    Hey,

when she was younger I tied her up at first but as time progressed I slowly trained her to be off leash in the box with no collar or leash. The reason I take the collar off is because she likes to place her head around the rear of the cab when driving which scratches the paint over time (happened to my old Tacoma) so now every time she hops up into the box I take her collar off until we stop to avoid marking up my new truck :)

I would recommend tying your dog off at first (if it's younger and still not completely trained) by measuring how much slack your dog requires to come close to the edge with out giving your dog enough slack that it can jump out.

Huskies can be a VERY frustrating dog to own and they require a lot of patience, mine is a husky wolf x and she challenged me a lot over the years and still does from time to time, more from a pup up until about three years old, she is four and a half now and has finally come around, lol, thank god. I recommend taking your dog to dog training and not one that trains dogs with treats. Huskies do like to take off and it takes time to train them not to, I spent a great deal of time dealing with this issue and you have to remember they don't do it on purpose to annoy you so try your best not to be annoyed when they do return to you, if your hard on them when they return they won't be to keen on returning to you in the future. I apply a whistle technique with my dog instead of calling her name, it's effective and she is very familiar with this method.

Once your feeling more confident with having your dog roam free in your box i would recommend starting off slow at first, ie doing a few laps around your local quiet neighbourhood and not a busy traffic type area. When the dog enters your box emphasize on the stay command and be stern and if they follow your orders well congratulate them when exiting.

Having a dog roam free in a box is dangerous but I have full confidence in my dog listening to me when I order her with a stay command, I think it's probably one of the most important commands with dogs. I am in no way responsible for others who choose to attempt this and if you do attempt this be careful.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks man! Yea I really like them. One gets some condensation in it every once in awhile but nothing I get too upset about. I'm very impressed with the light output though, the LEDs are very bright.
