    Folks,
Thinking of doing a subdued retro feel, would like to find 16 inch black steel rims for a 03 4 dr taco that will take baby moons, and even better if the moons match the 03 silver 6 lug. Cant seem to locate an after market dealer or oem if they are out there..

You would probably have to get wheels from a 1st gen Hilux/Truck (79-83) if you're after stock wheels with hubcap clips. Realize that these have a lot less backspacing than Tacoma wheels and are 15" diameter. If memory serves they are 5.5" wide with 3.25" of backspace, so not sure if they would work on a 4wd Tacoma, IOW whether they would clear the brake calipers or not.

You might have to look for GM wheels with a 6 lug steel wheel that's 16" diameter and can accept hub cap clips.

OTOH the reason why you don't see any toyotas with GM takeoff wheels is because the hub bore is too small

I know that, but there's been more old Chevy trucks with 16" wheels that could use hub cab clips that having a machine shop open the bore if necessary would be an option. If he's after just any steel wheels there's no reason, I agree, there's Toyota wheels that will work. But all the old Hilux and Cruiser wheels that used hub caps were 15".

Thanks folks! By coincidence, happened to be at our llocal dealership yesterday and posed the same question to the service rep. He told me there is nothing he could order from Toyota, after market would be my only hope. I recently also found a nail in my right rear tire and after lowering and installing the spare, I noticed it was Bridgestone mounted on something close to what the refer to as bullet hole rims. That, or solid is what I had in mind, but I guess there are none on Tacomas that have the pre-requisite "nubs" to secure the moons. Wondering if those would be easier to add than boring old chevy wheels, but to tell ya the truth....kinda perplexed that I am having difficulty finding these guys..
Sure appreciate everyones input, there is a garage in our area that resembles an old hippie commune, bunch of old farts like myself, gather to rebuild classic rides. Maybe ask them, but they mostly dig the old aircraft carriers from our 50's and 60's. Hell, me too....that's why I am trying to pull this off...
    thanks all!

Lol, got a set of moons myself years ago, never used em, they sit right in my alloy 15” stockers but would need a hole tapped on my rims which ain’t happening but they look cool. Gonna be mounted to my wall.

Full, I’ll dig em up, I had a 32 Essex that was going to be the old ratrod for them but I was crippled when I saved the old coupe from falling off a lift w/5 other friends and my back slipped three discs. What a boned day that was. Old cars are heavy like fwy overpasses. They would look cool on our trucks for sure. They fit all sorts of rims mine are for 15” wheels they are a bit off on yota wheels but work.

@cruisedon66 , that may be a final solution...saw another vid that I'll try and post of a fella cutting out full moons that had back clips. Finding the right tacoma rim seems to be goal #1
