I'm still not over the title, Steel Wheel Conspiracy. So far it looks not to be the wheels now on to the conspiracy part.

OK. I give you that. the wheels are not it, but Toyota only puts the dinky tires on the steel wheels so if you get one, you get both. I see the .5%, by doing the math, but it was consistently about 2mph off at 65.

    Yup! Makes sense to me.

``Sinking biffles bid what scrumps over tandem berry bridge.``

I`d be phoning Toyota Corporate and telling them exactly that, if I were you.

Really? You see .5%? One half of one percent? My guess is, yer not a math major. The difference in circumference is 3.71" OR 3.9% which IS a significant amount. See the chart below for the geometry challenged.

Damn, I've been wrong all these years? I though "mm" meant millimeters, not inches and " meant inches. damn schools.

I believe you are correct. Sort of like the question I have been asking people for years. At what point does the far east become the near west??

You really didn't put a bigger tire on your truck in means of height because you only gained about .05" in height, all you gained was the with from a 245 to a 265.......... This post makes me confused LOL :facepalm:You should have went with a real tire and went with a 265 75 16......

He was talking about 245/75r16 vs 265/70r16, so yes a .5% difference in diameter. Reading Hard

Awww....so cute when they think there is a gotcha moment. No reading comprehension isn't hard.... missed the 70 vs the 75. My bad and apologies.

However I wasn't the one that floated the original conspiracy premise. Nor did I confuse wheel diameter with tire OD and circumference.

Hmm.. Missed the part where I called the guy dumb. Difference between calling someone dumb and saying they ain't a math major. Must be that comprehension thing again....

I misread, jumped the gun, and I was wrong. Got it? Still, if you wanna dance....:boink:
