What size/offset wheels would I need to replace the stock TRDOR wheels? Not looking to upsize...

Also, are there any basic steel wheel options for TRDOR? Just the base utilitarian style steelies. Where to buy?

    Thanks

Currently have 2nd Gen base regular cab 2wd. In the market for a 16+ TRD OR (and keeping the 2nd Gen). Exploring upgrade options for the future TRD OR.

If you go OR the stock wheels/rub are 16". The spare is a steelie wheel if that is what you mean. I would sell you my spare if you are interested when it comes time.

Another popular option is to go to the 17" FJ steel wheel.

Don't try a 4runner steel wheel from the early 2000s. The barrel will grind on the calipers.

I would gladly trade you my SR steelies for your offroad wheels! I'm only 1 state over as well!

What you linked to are the 16"x7" spare steel wheels. Couldn't say on the 16+ but they work fine for every day use on the 05-15. You can identify them as 16" Tacoma spares because they have an oval hole by the valve stem. FWIW, they are about $100 from the dealer brand new, painted black. So make sure you price used and aftermarket ones appropriately.

I've personally collected about half a dozen of them to use eventually, after I get around to powdercoating them. I actually wish I'd collected the 16" steel spares from the 1st gen Tacoma instead, since they have a little less backspacing and would push my tires out a bit. I run 235/85R16 and will put 255/85R16 on the steels. Since they are tall and skinny pushing them out a 1/2" would look better I think.

It's ironic that the guys with old junk often want the wheels from the newer trucks.

BTW, also factor in that you may have to get new TPMS sensors when switching from/to alloy and steel. I think the sensors from our alloy will work in the OEM steel spare wheels but I'm not 100%. I think the regular steel like @BAMA-256 is offering aren't the same as the spare style steels in this regard.

Yes, the ones I saw did have the oval hole by the valve stem. All other holes were circles.

    Very nice truck BTW!

You can get the 16" spares or I think someone said first gen tundra steelies would work?

1st gen Tundra, 1st gen Tacoma or 3rd gen 4Runner 16" wheels will work on 05+ Tacoma if you want less backspace. The wheels from 07+ Tundra, 04+ 4Runner and FJ Cruisers will work if you want the same backspacing or want 17" steel wheels.

The 3rd gen 4runner steel wheels will not clear the Gen3 Tacoma calipers

Interesting. I assumed since the 3rd gen 4Runner alloys (such as the 5 spokes) would work on 2nd gens so would the steels and that the 3rd gen was the same since the spare rims appear to be unchanged. My mistake, sorry to confuse things.

    4runner-on-tacoma2.jpg

Also what the 1st gen Tundra alloys look like on a 2nd gen.

I had thought the same thing and tried to mount them myself. If the caliper was ground down it might work, but I didn't want to do that.

    Too few to list.
I thought about going this route but in the end, the steelies were just too heavy.
