Just dont touch the brake while steering and the power under idle will give you enough movement to easily turn your tires.

I may test out my truck real quick in the garage

Didn't think about the brake. Honestly don't even know how the electric(?) booster affects power steering pump at idle. My truck often idles up while I'm on the brake.

"One guy's setup" has 41mm of added scrub.
The examples @JoeCOVA gave have 16-20mm of added scrub.

A tall tire helps with negative offset wheels as they 'reduce' scrub.

As long as you don't dry steer the truck (turn the wheels without any movement), they shouldn't do too much damage. Obviously a lot heavier so there will be some premature wear, but nothing crazy if you drive it right

Can you give an example of how you arrived at those added numbers of scrub radius?

And how a taller tire helps?

Just put on 33" (285/70/17) MTs and haven't notice any difference

    -12 offset wheels.

It is my understanding that the more the value of the scrub radius differs from zero (whether more positive or more negative), the more the steering effort will be increased...Particularly at a stop or slow roll.

Which is why I brought it up. I have no idea what our trucks start out with stock.

I don't think most people give a shit...but if you're reading this thread you might.

The second guy's setup is the exact same wheel, with the same tire in a bigger size: 315/75/R16.

Anyway, it seems the -25 mm offset is what's making a difference vs. others who aren't mentioning increased steering effort. And maybe the Cooper STT Pros are making a difference, too. Not sure.

    I surmise, 1/8" at most.
I set that calculator for zero scrub on the oem specs and just go by how much scrub is added or subtracted.
That's why I use words like, "added" or "additional", to describe changes in scrub.;)

    On 16x8 -25mm? That's 35mm of added scrub.

Offfset has a greater effect on scrub than tire height.

Well, we don't know the factory scrub, but it seems the TRD OR 16x7 OEM wheels are +25mm.

So just for a visual vs the stock wheels.

The aftermarket wheels with 0 offset are adding about 1 inch of width per side= increased total track width of around 2 inches.

The -12 offset are adding around 1.5 inches of width per side= increased total track width of around 3 inches.

Then the -25mm wheels are adding about 2 inches of width per side= increased total track width of around 4 inches.

That last one is quite a bit. No wonder it changes the feel.

Another thing that's going on is the high positive caster they run; it's prone to understeer.
High positive caster also increases camber changes in turns.

    For a 16x8 -25mm, you'd need a 43" tire to not affect scrub.

Only thing I have to reference is my Jeep because I'm not doing a lift on the Taco. Eventually you will see premature wear on the ball joints and tie rod ends. I had to up-grade these components to Heavy Duty Chromoly Steel pieces on my JK.
