On the steering wheel there are the up and down buttons for scrolling. These control the small display screen between the tachometer and speedometer. They can also control the scrolling on the main entertainment unit on the dashboard. Usually these buttons scroll intuitively, ie, up is up and down is down. But if I connect my phone via bluetooth or if I use a USB drive, when I press the up button, the scroll moves downward, and if I press the down button, the scroll moves upward. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

    wait..what?

The arrows on the left of the steering wheel are for the radio/audio inputs. The arrows on the right are for the in dash cluster.

Yup I got that. But if you select music option in the in-dash cluster, you can also switch tracks using the arrows on the right. My main problem is that when I'm using bluetooth or usb, the pressing the up arrow selects one track down, and vice-versa for the down arrow. I would have thought pressing the up arrow goes up one track, and pressing the down arrow goes one track down. Its basically opposite. I'm wondering if there is a problem with my setup, or if this is the same for all 3rd gen tacos?

no, this is correct. Notice on the left controls, that pushing "up" would advance you to the next song. Regardless of what you see on the screen.
On the right side controls, you pushing "up" advances to the next song, which happens to be shown in a list going "down". Does that make sense? I see where it can be confusing, but makes sense if you don't look at the list. lol

Hmm, I think I see what you're saying. Im at work now, so I can't test it out. But basically you're saying pushing up goes one song forward, and pushing down goes one song backward?

Just to follow up. I checked the manual too and it confirms what @Freetime said. I personally still find it's counter-intuitive, but apparently its the standard in all Toyotas....
