You do what you have to.
If rethreading it is what you have to do, do it.
Keep an eye on the bolt. It’s easy enough to crawl under and look at once a week.
That’s just the way it is……

Others are sure to come along and say it’s a bad idea.
It beats walking. And the others probably aren’t broke college kids.

    Yeah.
There are options for about $100 on RockAuto.

Isn't there a thread chaser instead of re-tapping the thread?

@Big blue 4x4 where in Nova are you? Im here too and could potentially help. Although I don't have another part for you.

Looks like you can get a single replacement for $90. Not OEM, but better than nothing too

Yeah anything definitely beats walking, I’ll probably end up going the rethread route for now just to keep it on the road. It’s easy enough to check the bolts and saving that little bit extra until I can be working full time will make all the difference. I really appreciate the advice

I think Bishop said it was an odd thread.
You might want to take the other bolt to the parts store and check the thread pitch first.
    Good luck man.

I’m actually in Harrisonburg at jmu, I just figured that nova would be more accessible in the case someone had a part. I definitely appreciate the offer, and depending on how cheap I can get it rethreaded I might order that replacement. I’d just rather not have to wait longer for parts to ship when she’s already up on stands

When you reinstall, torque the bolt down properly then 'torque mark' the bolt head with a bright paint pen (or white out). Makes it much easier to visually check until you can get a replacement
