Hi community, i just added my 2” lift in front and 1.5 rear and got my alignment done. Now around highway speeds 50 - 60 mph i feel like the steering wheel is “loose” and i feel every damn bump and crack on the road in my steering wheel. Is this a problem with my alignment or a steering rack/column issue as some people stated. Thanks

    PS im running 285/75 k02’s

You need more caster. A better alignment for you would be 2.5* caster or so atleast(more need more to avoid rubbing) with 0.5* MORE caster on the RIGHT side to compensate for road crown and i'd try 0.8* positive camber on both sides along with a total toe setting of between 0.04" and 0.06". You may need aftermarket upper control arms with more caster built in to get there.

low caster will make everything feel loose. I don't recommend over 4* caster. After that it gets a little too stiff in the wheel and too quick to return to centre on these trucks, especially if it's not primarily a highway cruiser

Got the realignment they gave me a hard time treating me like I knew nothing about caster. But finally they got it in the shop and squeezed i believe 2.3 * camber on the right and 2* on the left (with stock uca) And the “play” in the steering wheel is gone!! and it feels like the truck wants to go straight instead swaying. The bump steer is still there, it could very well be because i have too much weight in the bed, but i have suspicions its got something to do with the steering rack or suspension components. Thank for the help guys!

When my truck was new I had a bit of bump steer, I don't know if I've aligned it out or got used to it but between better front bump stops and playing with my toe angle precisely it's minimal now. I feel it's kinda the nature of these trucks. Aligning these has evident compromises all around.

Yeah when i got mine i had bump steer as well. The lift amplified it im just thinkjng since theyre new springs (886) they need to settle. But im way happier with the drivability and performance of the new shocks. Those hitachi shocks were wayyy too bouncy
