This is off the subject but i bought my Grandson a 1988 Dodge to get around in high school. The other day he ask me if I would look at his steering wheel. It is a tilt wheel. When you change positions it locks like it is supposed to. The problem is you can move the wheel up about two inches in any position. Has anyone had a old Dodge in the past with this

Same as a GM steering column. The 3 bolts come loose. The column has to be disassembled down past the tilt joint. It requires a couple of special tools to get it apart. One of the tools is a special puller for removing the pivot pins. It’s kind of a medium difficulty job. Not as easy as replacing an alternator. Not as difficult as an automatic trans rebuild.
