FYI on OE replacements - I checked with The Car Care Nut shop and they do not see upgraded replacement units available from Toyota. Which means Toyota does not see enough of an issue to redesign the rack and do a part number replacement. Sucks, as I have the same leaks. No off-roading. I read somewhere that someone put stop leak in with successful results. I am normally not a stop leak user for any leaks. Anyone have any experience with stop leak use on the Tacoma racks?

These leaks are pretty common, mines leaked for a couple years now and never really though much of it but I'm not sure I would add anything to the power steering fluid, I've never had good luck with any stop leak product. Apparently 74weld is working on a full replacement rack that supposed to come out sometime this year, at least based on a youtube comment response they gave someone but knowing 74weld it probably isn't going to be very affordable for most.

Mine is not even dripping from the boots yet, so I have a ways to go before I do anything. As far as replacement, I will go back with a stock unit. If Toyota does not have an upgraded units available, I will go aftermarket - likely a NAPA unit. Def wont pay Toyota price without some proof they have at least addressed the issue.

    Rack and bolts ordered.

Debating on replacing the bushing that comes with the rack with energy suspension bushings.

Not really looking forward to this job, but I will get it done

Just an update, for anyone with a noise that is traced to the rack internals. I did do a write up on it. I'd also appreciate feedback from others on it

    Rack was delivered today.

The box is completely shredded and the rack was hanging out

That's a real bummer. Are you returning it?

No clue, I still need to contact Rock Auto and see what my options are. I've read the process is not fun nor easy.

Rockauto finally got back to me.

Refunded steering rack, told me to keep it.

It's all in the box now, but when it was delivered it was hanging out.

I'll probably inspect it and see if it's salvageable or not. Otherwise I'll order another.
