I have a 05 prerunner and I was looking under my truck and seeing this was told I had a bad rack. But Brian from tacomaholic said he really doesn't know that much about Racks and told me to come here to see if anybody could help me. He said it could be a torn boot. I told him I didn't have any steering problems and haven't had any noise of any kind. So maybe somebody here can tell me what I need to do.

Sure looks like a torn boot to me. But hard to be 100% sure. Poke around there a little so see if it is torn or if it's leaking from another spot.

My look worst I just suck out and refill the reservoir with Lucas Power Steering Leak Stop.
if it doesn't affect your steering you will be fine.
